Ford løfter sløret for LEGO-udgaver af Le Mans-legender
Tidligere i år gentog Ford succes’en fra 1966 og vandt 24-timers løbet Le Mans. Det var en kæmpe bedrift, der gav genlyd i hele motorsportsverdenen. Ford tager nu fejringen med ind i LEGO-universet med introduktionen af LEGO-udgaver af Ford GT40 fra 1966 og den nye 2016-model af den legendariske Ford GT.
Nu får du og dit barn muligheden for at udleve jeres drøm og blive motorsportslegender. Det sker, når Ford lancerer den ikoniske GT40 og den helt nye Ford GT, som vandt Le Mans 2016, i LEGO-format.
Det nye sæt, som er en del af LEGO Speed Champions-serien, inkluderer begge biler, LEGO-racerkørere i miniformat, et ternet flag og et trofæ, så I sammen kan genskabe de historiske sejre.
“Mange medlemmer af mit team var vidne til den legendariske Ford-sejr i 1966, og de var derfor begejstrede for at være med til at skabe og designe disse ikoniske biler i LEGO-format for første gang nogensinde”, siger Dave Pericak, global director hos Ford Performance. ”LEGO-sættet er en stærk måde at formidle vores Le Mans-historie på, og vi håber at kunne inspirere fremtidens racerkørere, ingeniører og designere”.
Ford vandt tidligere i år Le Mans - præcis 50 år efter den ikoniske 1-2-3 sejr, hvor Ford satte sig på samtlige tre podiepladser. LEGO Group har i tæt samarbejde med Fords team af designere og licensansvarlige gjort alt for at sikre, at alle detaljer på begge biler er helt nøjagtige.
“Det her var drømmeprojektet – men det var også et stort pres. Ford GT40 er en af de mest ikoniske racerbiler gennem tiden, og den nye Ford GT er ganske enkelt imponerende”, siger Craig Callum, head of design hos LEGO Speed Champions. “De er designet til børn, men vi har bestemt også haft voksnes behov og ønsker med i processen – og vi ved jo, at vores modeller og deres autenticitet vil blive grundigt vurderet af vores købere.”
Callum, der bruger en del af sin fritid på at køre ræs i sin hot rod-udgave af Fords Model A, startede som designer på ”almindelige” biler i fuld størrelse. Denne gang var det dog LEGO-versioner, der skulle designes, og på dette projekt har han været med til at udvikle ti prototyper, inden den endelige version af begge modeller blev godkendt.
Den nye Ford GT i 2016-udgaven samt den legendariske GT40 fra 1966 kan fra 1. marts 2017 bestilles på LEGO.com/shop. På nuværende tidspunkt kan man på shoppen købe både Ford Mustang, Ford F 150 Raptor med trailer og en Ford Model A hot rod.
