Ford øger investering i el- og selvkørende biler til 179 milliarder kroner
Ford Motor Company sluttede 2020 stærkt af med forbedrede resultater inden for både bilproduktion og finansielle tjenester i 4. kvartal. Nu øger virksomheden sin investering i elbiler og selvkørende biler.
”Fords transformation er i fuldt sving, ikke mindst takket være vores store fremskridt på elbilsfronten og selvkørende teknologi. Derfor investerer vi nu 29 milliarder dollars i alt på disse to områder, som vil komme vores kunder til gode med både eldrevne SUV’er, varebiler og pickups,” udtaler Jim Farley, Fords administrerende direktør.
Investeringen svarer til over 179 mia. kroner. Heraf vil 22 mia. dollars (næsten 136 mia. kr.) gå til udviklingen af elbiler, mens 7 mia. dollars (over 43 mia. kroner) vil gå til udviklingen af selvkørende biler.
Nyheden kommer i forbindelse med Ford Motor Companys nyligt offentliggjorte finansielle resultater for 2020.
