Ny Ford Focus ST får verdenspremiere
Arvtageren til én af de mest roste GTI’er står på spring i kulissen. Den helt ny Ford Focus ST får verdenspremiere på den traditionsrige Goodwood Festival of Speed i det sydlige England fredag, hvor professionelle racerkørere vil konfrontere den nye Focus ST med udfordringerne på den berømte ’hill climb’ bane.
Focus ST er en videreudvikling af den ny Focus, som lanceres senere i år. Med kvalitetsforbedringer og ny teknologi vil Ford Focus ST ikke blot optræde i en hidsig benzinudgave, men vil – for første gang nogensinde – få selskab af en Focus ST med dieselmotor.
Siden 2002, hvor den første Focus ST så dagens lys, er der solgt mere end 140.000 eksemplarer i mere end 40 lande.
Der bliver også lejlighed til at opleve et race mellem den virkelige- og den virtuelle verden, idet ’the Hill’ vil blive testkørt simultant af både den ægte vare og den Focus ST, der optræder i Sonys Gran Turismo PS3-spil.
En garvet gamer vil konkurrere direkte mod Ben Collins – også kendt som ’The Stig’ fra BBC-programmet Top Gear – og det hele vil blive vist på storskærme på festivalpladsen. Besøgende på Fords stand har mulighed for at teste egne evner som Focus ST-kørere i den virtuelle verden.
Goodwood festivalen byder desuden på en førsteoptræden af den helt nye Ford Mustang. En fem-liters V8’er Fastback deltager i løbet ”Supercar Class” med Ford Team RS-specialisten David Put bag rattet. Der også være mulighed for at se den nye Mustang convertible.
Ny Ford Focus ST lanceres i Danmark i starten af 2015.
