Ford afslører konceptbillede af ny Mustang-inspireret elbil
Ford har i dag afsløret det første konceptbillede af virksomhedens nye, Mustang-inspirerede elbil – den første model fra Ford Team Edison, som er blevet specifikt etableret til at udvikle elbiler med alle verdensmarkeder for øje.
Darren Palmer er navnet på den globale direktør for produktudviklingen i Ford Team Edison, der er et dedikeret, tværfunktionelt team med base i nye kontorer i centrum af Detroit, USA. Holdet har fået tilladelse til at operere på en komplet anderledes og innovativ måde med hensyn til udviklingen af elbiler rettet mod et marked, der vokser med tiltagende vækst.
Team Edison har til opgave at agere hurtigt for både at kunne løse almindelige problemstillinger og unikke udfordringer i hvert individuelt marked, hvorfor de omfavner en flad virksomhedsstruktur for at tilskynde til idéer fra vidt forskellige synspunkter. Team Edison indtager også en dugfrisk angrebsvinkel med hensyn til hurtig udvikling af konceptbiler, hvor der er kort fra tanke til handling – selv ud af materialer som eksempelvis pap, der giver større fleksibilitet til både at lære, forbedre og i sidste ende levere intuitive og innovative design.
“Elbilskunder abonnerer på fremtiden, og vores team er 100 procent fokuseret på ikke blot at levere bilmodeller, de vil elske, men også at levere et økosystem af elektriske biler, der fungerer upåklageligt,” understreger Palmer.
Fords splinternye, Mustang-inspirerede og fuldt elektriske bil lanceres i 2020 med en rækkevidde på over 480 km (300 miles). Ford investerer 11 milliarder dollars i projektet og planlægger at have 16 fuldt elektriske biler inden for en global portefølje af i alt 40 elbiler inden 2022.
